Months After $2.5 Billion News, MLS Leaves Behind the Mighty Dutch League as It Enters Top 10 in Most Valuable Rankings

Soccer is one of the most famous sports in the world. Many players fight it out to get into the best leagues in the world. Therefore, according to Transfermarkt, they have released some of the most valuable leagues in the world. In fact, the English Premier League remains on top of the list with an incredible value besides them.

However, along with those names, the MLS now has a place as one of the top-ranked valuable leagues around the globe. The league now ranks higher than the famous Eredivisie (Dutch League). Apple TV+ recently signed a deal with MLS to broadcast their games live. Hence, it became a colossal deal for the league. They ranked the MLS ninth in the world for the most valuable league list. It is a testament to the fine work done in the country.  

MLS ranks in the top 10 valuable leagues in the world

The MLS has a league value of $1.28 billion as top players now arrive in the league. According to Sportico, teams like Los Angeles FC, La Galaxy, and Inter Miami have contributed to the league’s significance. In 2022, they valued Los Angeles FC at $900 million.

Meanwhile, they valued LA Galaxy at $865 million. The interest in MLS is growing daily as teams look promising. The leagues above MLS have ridiculously high value when compared to much lower league competitions. 

In addition, signing a deal with Apple proved exceptional for the league. The giant tech company and the soccer league signed a $2.5 billion global broadcast partnership for ten years. Although it doesn’t break all the monetary dealings or barriers, the deal proved to suit the MLS.

Fan reach is vital to unlocking the doors to get an extensive influence in soccer. The more fans you have, the more revenue you generate. Hence, the deal with Apple proved to be the difference in getting MLS highly ranked on the list. So which are the other top-ranked leagues in the world?

Most valuable leagues in the world

The English Premier League ranks first on the list with a valuation of $11.3 billion. The presence of American owners in the league is a boost to the value of the competition. Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Liverpool are all owned by American billionaires. They have some of the best squads with mesmerizing players to entertain the fans. Hence, the Premier League stays on top of the rankings. 

Second, comes the Spanish League. La Liga is one of the top leagues in the world with a valuation of $5.22 billion. Teams like Real Madrid and Barcelona contribute to the richness of the league. They are the two most successful teams in soccer and rightly remain on top.
