Neymar seems to be picking up injury after injury. Neymar is yet to make his Al Hilal debut since he is out with an injury. Now, he has been photographed with a bandage on his hand upon his arrival in Brazil.

It hasn’t been smooth sailing for the Brazilian forward since his move from PSG to Saudi Arabia this summer. This is after the international break resumed for most clubs around the world.

This comes shortly after Neymar posted an Instagram story about linking up with fellow teammate Richarlison. According to this tweet on X, Neymar is pictured walking through the Brazilian airport with a bandage on his hand.

The Brazil forward is yet to make his debut for Al Hilal. But has been called up for the Brazil squad. This is rather surprising considering he hasn’t played a competitive soccer game since his move from PSG in the summer.

The Brazilian star was expected to feature in Al Hilal’s game on 1st September vs. Al Ittihad. This would have seen Neymar play against his old Real Madrid rival Karim Benzema. But again, the former PSG forward could not make his debut in that game due to his injury.

Neymar grilled by Brazilian commentator and pundit

Neymar, of course, is a phenom in his native Brazil. But not all of the soccer world thinks so. Brazilian pundit Walter Casagrande earlier called Neymar the “biggest wasted talent in history”.

This was shortly after his move to Saudi Arabia. Now the pundit reckons that Neymar is also considerably injury prone. Furthermore, he stated that Neymar doesn’t take his profession “seriously”.

Commenting about Neymar’s susceptibility to injury, Casagrande said, “He’s never shown the fans that he’s had proper physiotherapy, given that he’s had several injuries and surgeries on his foot and ankle”

“Could it be that he took physiotherapy seriously, just as he doesn’t take his profession as a professional athlete seriously?” Casagrande added.

Neymar’s call-up to the Brazil squad is also rather surprising, especially because of his injury and lack of playing time. Nevertheless, new Brazil manager Fernando Diniz has called Neymar up to join the Brazil squad.

Diniz is a proponent of ‘relationism’: a new branch of soccer philosophy, which he implemented while managing Fluminese. But that aside, Diniz will certainly look to integrate Neymar into the national setup. However, whether Neymar can shake off his injury woes remains to be seen.
