Who is better, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? This is a debate that has gone on forever. Both the soccer legends have over the years built very diversified fan bases. With both of them having global fanbases, soccer fans usually stick to the argument of who’s won more silverware than the other.

Recently, Joe Rogan invited fellow podcaster and scientist Lex Fridman as a guest. Lex Fridman is a computer scientist mainly known for his podcast, called the ‘Lex Fridman Podcast’, in which he covers a massive spectrum of topics.

However, Lex Fridman has now seemingly gone viral for some recent comments that he made on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Rogan and Fridman were having a very candid conversation about Ronaldo and Messi.

What was said on the Joe Rogan podcast?

Lex Fridman has now publicly stated on the Joe Rogan Experience that he prefers Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Fridman was very cautious while putting his views forward on why he thinks the Argentine No. 10 is better than the Portuguese soccer legend.

Rogan then asked Fridman about the main factor that divides these two soccer legends. He asked, “What is it like? Who’s better LeBron or Michael Jordan, is it like that kind of thing?”. To which, Fridman replied, “Messi is better by far…it has to do with movement, so it has to do with where you put priorities”.

Fridman then explains that he doesn’t even consider Ronaldo to be in the Top 5. He said that considers legends like Maradona and Pele better than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Another shocking line that Fridman said was that he considers the Brazilian Ronaldo to be better than the Portuguese soccer legend.

Why does Lex Fridman prefer Messi over Ronaldo?

Fridman then slowly reveals why he prefers the Argentine soccer star. He said, “Cristiano is much better looking, he’s much harder working, he’s an incredible soccer player…Messi moves like nothing I’ve ever seen”.

He continued, “There’s moments on genius unlike anybody else…The question is how much do you value moments of genius in terms of movement…like just like how many things you’re able to create where they’re like, What the F**k did I just watch?”

Without a doubt, Fridman put forward some interesting thoughts for the Messi-Ronaldo fans to ponder about. However, the Argentine might have just edged ahead of Ronaldo after winning the FIFA World Cup.
