MLS side Seattle Sounders to compete in FIFA Club World Cup

According to the new format, there will be 32 teams. The co-efficient rankings are vital for some teams to get qualified. Along with the Sounders, 12 teams will qualify from Europe, six from South America. Moreover, the four best teams from North America, Asia, and Africa will join the rest in the competition. The last two teams come from Oceania Football Confederation and the nation that hosts the tournament.

After winning the Confederation Champions Cup, C.F. Monterrey, and the Sounders qualified for the prestigious tournament. Apart from these two teams, the winners of the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) for the years 2023 and 2024 will make their entry into the competition. If the same team from CONCACAF wins the competition again, the best-ranked FIFA team qualifies according to their sophisticated ranking systems.
