Likewise, yet another renowned name lauded the new Inter Miami man as former MLB star Derek Jeter came to witness the 7x Ballon d’Or winner in action.
So far, Messi has made three starts for David Beckham?s side, with the third one coming today. Just like the other two matches, the usual crowd came to see the World Cup winner in action alongside Jeter.

Former New York Yankees star Derek Jeter also made his way to the DRV PNK Stadium to watch yet another magic show by Messi. The No. 10 started the Leagues Cup match against Orlando City. Unfortunately, the Round-of-32 clash saw a delay due to heavy rain. Hence, MLS TV utilized this time to interview the celebrities present at the event.
Jeter was one of the personalities who spoke before the kickoff. The host asked if Jeter brought rain along with him, to which he replied, ?Oh there we go blame it on me.? Then the ex-Yankees star took the opportunity to express admiration for Messi. He said, “I think everyone is obviously is excited with Messi here. You know, one of the greatest players ever play and, you know, a lot of excitement.”

Jeter added, “He is the talk of the town, and I’m just looking forward to get a chance to watch him play. When you play professional sports, you’re a fan of all sports and all players. You have admiration and respect for him, So I’m looking forward to watch.” Indeed, these are quite a few words that Jeter quoted for the 36-year-old.

Remarkably, this was Jeter?s first MLS game. Certainly, his first experience with soccer wouldn?t have disappointed him a single bit, as Messi once again dropped a masterclass performance for Miami.
A magisterial performance from La Pulga
Messi?s third start in the Leagues Cup was yet another success. The Herons’ skipper was able to lead his side to a 3-1 victory against Orlando City. Notably, it took him just seven minutes to open his account in the match. However, Orlando quickly replied with a goal just after 10 minutes. Miami eventually got a lifeline after winning a penalty in the 51st minute that was swiftly tucked in by Josef Martinez.

Soon, Messi tripled Miami?s lead as he found yet another goal in the back of the net. Interestingly, Orlando rallied for a comeback as they scored a goal, but that was eventually ruled out by VAR. In the end, the night ended really well for both Miami and Messi. Certainly, Jeter would have enjoyed his first MLS experience.
