Just hours ago, Al Nassr played their fourth game of the Roshan Saudi League against Al Shabab. The winning ways continued for the Jeddah side as they thrashed the away side 4-0. Once again, with the help of a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, they clinched an emphatic victory. But just minutes after the game, their win was overshadowed by the date of birth controversy of one of CR7’s teammates.

Luis Castro’s side would have slept like babies after the solid win. However, the protests from the losing side over their player’s date of birth dissension must have disrupted their mood.

Usually, after the match, players or coaches are seen having a tete-a-tete with referees. They either debate about some refereeing decisions or banter about the match. However, you’d be surprised to know what Al Shabab protested after losing to Al Nassr. Interestingly, the Riyadh-based club is objecting to a certain Al Nassr player’s date of birth.

Apparently, Al Shabab is raising objections to Al Nassr’s Mukhtar Ali’s involvement in the game. The issue arose due to the difference between his birth date as listed in the match roster and the birth date indicated in his passport. They reckon that both of the given DOBs are different and thus have reached the concerned authorities for the same.

As of now, neither Al Nassr nor any relevant officials have responded to their protest. But coming back, it certainly sounds like a peculiar response to a humiliating loss. On the other other, they might also be on to something. An accusation as serious as this could surely put both Al Nassr and Ali in jeopardy. However, this entire fiasco might also boil down to a small mistake in the roster sheet.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores a brace to power Al Nassr to victory

Al Nassr won yet another Roshan Saudi League match against Al Shabab. Ronaldo broke the scoresheet deadlock in just 13 minutes after Al Nassr was awarded a penalty. Mr. Penalty Expert sweetly tucked the ball in to give Al Nassr a lead. The Portuguese almost added his second, but it was eventually ruled out by VAR. However, at the 38th minute, the latter finally managed to score his second goal. Just two minutes later, he assisted Sadio Mane, who added the third goal for Al Nassr.

Notably, in the 63rd minute, Al Nassr got another penalty which was surprisingly taken by Abdulrahman Ghareeb. Sadly, the winger failed to get his goal. Additionally, things worsened for Al Shabab as Ever Banega was sent off in the 78th minute. Remarkably, just two minutes after they were one man down, they conceded the fourth goal, thanks to a strike from Sultan Al Ghanam.
