Manchester United just shocked the world by announcing they are cutting ties with star forward Cristiano Ronaldo. However, this is not the first time they have shocked the world. Manchester united once posted a picture of Superstar pop singer Miley Cyrus. In the photo, the singer was wearing a Manchester United t-shirt. The image was Twitted on May 20- 2014, and the 2013-14 session of the Premier League concluded just six days prior.

Manchester City, the rival club of MU, had just won the title by defeating West Ham United. They won 2-0, while United finished their season in seventh place. Manchester United started the season as the defending champions, which means they had a particularly bad session that year.

Manchester United and the shaky season of 2013-14

Manchester United, as previously discussed, finished the session in 7th place, which is the lowest for the team to date. They lost 12 games out of 38 and only managed to win 19. It is safe to say they haven’t had the worst season after that till 2021-2022. Where they finished in 6th but only got 58 points, they ended 2013-14 with 64 points to their name. After arguably the worst season ever during 2021-22, Manchester is again in the news for dropping Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United management was dealing with the aftermath of a very controversial interview Ronaldo did with Piers Morgan. Saying fans on social media were not happy would be a huge understatement.
