Wrexham legend is thoroughly impressed with his former club!
The former soccer star currently in the limelight is Mickey Thomas. The vintage soccer hero played for a vast platter of clubs throughout his career. Interestingly he started his career at Wrexham, and the rest was history. He then accepted a move to Manchester United and toured the whole of England for the rest of his career. He did showcase his loyalty to the Welsh club after returning towards the fag end of his career.
In a recent chat with the Sportsman, Thomas had a lot to say about Wrexham’s new and famous leaders. The vintage soccer hero revealed that Reynolds was in touch with him. He said, “He’s checking me a couple of times. He wants to go out with me and have a meal with him. Whether he wants to try and take me back into the game, I’m not so sure. I’m getting on well now as you know”.
Thomas termed Reynolds’ efforts and achievements at the club as ‘quite extraordinary’. He continued, “They’ve got back into the football league. That is amazing but they’re not happy with that. They want to go further. They are looking at the Premier League. I mean, that is probably going to be a way-off situation for them to get in the next few years. But with them two people involved anything is possible”.
