In 2021, Reynolds appeared on the Smartless podcast to talk about life in general. During the podcast, Reynolds explained to the hosts how his love story began. The Hollywood star met Blake Lively for the first time in 2010. The celebrity couple interacted for the first time with each other while shooting for Green Lantern. On the Smartless podcast, Reynolds quoted, “I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern”.

A few weeks later, Reynolds and Lively both went out on a double date too. At the time, they were dating separate individuals. The Deadpool star revealed that there was a sort of connection between them while they casually hung out. However, a year later, Reynolds realized that his future wife had broken up with her partner.

Coincidently, both of them were going to Boston. Reynolds totally took his chances, he wittingly said on the podcast, “Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and so I was like, ‘Well let’s—I’ll ride with you. We got on the train and we rode together, and then I was just begging her to sleep with me”.

The celebrity couple grew closer and eventually tied the knot in 2012. They preferred keeping the marriage a secret, and they revealed only a few details to the fans. The celebrity continued to star in numerous movies and live their lives. Many years later, Reynolds suddenly got interested in soccer. In the blink of an eye, he was the co-owner of a soccer club. However, the missus was not very happy with the decision that Reynolds solely took.

However, the Deadpool star later revealed that his wife wasn’t the happiest after Reynolds revealed the news to her, that too pretty late.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he said, “I remember seeing Blake, saying, I have bad news and I have really bad news. I slipped into someone’s DMs again. The really bad news is that I might have bought half of a fifth-tier national football league in Wales”. In retrospect, both of them have become diehard fans of Wrexham AFC.
