Ever since Lionel Messi‘s move to Inter Miami, the world has been shaken up by the news. Although most fans are excited to watch Messi’s impact on the MLS, some have shown concern about the transfer. The move will make Messi the highest-paid athlete on US soil.

A few days back, the Liga MX superstar took a jibe at MLS, by comparing the Mexican and American League. Messi is set to make his Miami debut on July 21 against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup. Interestingly, the rival club manager doesn’t seem to be shaken about facing the World Cup Champion and is focused more on their upcoming match.

Messi will be arriving shortly in Miami as his debut match is scheduled for July 21 against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup. Furthermore, his first game in the MLS would be on August 20, in front of his home fans at DRV PNK Stadium and against Charlotte.

While the whole world is thrilled to welcome Messi to Inter Miami and his journey at MLS, some are not feared of this historic deal. Interestingly, rival club Cruz Azul’s coach already opened up about his plans to counter Messi and doesn’t fear the “seven-headed monster”.

Although Ricardo Ferretti was more focused on his upcoming match against Toluca, he still left a few words on Messi. Upon getting asked about facing Messi on July 21, Ricardo showed great confidence in his team’s performance.

“I’m going to play against Toluca and you guys want me to think about Messi. Let me sleep peacefully yet, I will look for the best for Saturday. When I play in Miami, I will think about what we are going to do that week, (Messi) is not a seven-headed monster, he is a super player. We don’t sing the rancheras badly either,” he further added.

It’s also impressive that coach Ricardo Ferretti seems unshaken about facing Messi on July 21. With millions of fans’ eyes on Messi’s debut, the rival coach will have a splendid chance to overshadow the World Cup Champion. Moreover, by using significant tactics to counter Messi’s dribbling, Cruz Azul has an opportunity to shine in the Leagues Cup.
