Manchester City could have a rocky start to the upcoming season. If the FFP scandal was not enough, the team now has to worry about an impending exodus. Multiple Sky Blue stars are looking for an exit during the upcoming transfer window with top names such as Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva on the list. Both De Bruyne and Silva are expected to make a move this summer. The two midfielders are top prospects for big clubs as they enter the final year of their respective contracts.

Despite the rumors, Manchester City aren’t sweating the situation. Head coach Pep Guardiola assured the media about his team following the team’s title celebrations. Guardiola noted the players are satisfied at the club. The Spaniard added he was assured by sporting director Txiki Begiristain that everything is fine for the upcoming year. Talk about being confident! While the Sky Blues may seem confident, the team could risk losing a couple of players with Ederson and Bernardo Silva linked to a move to Saudi Arabia come summer.

The English Football Association issued an official statement over the matter reading, “West Ham United’s Lucas Paqueta has been charged with misconduct in relation to alleged breaches of FA Rules E5 and F3. The player has been charged with four breaches of FA Rule E5.1 in relation to his conduct in the club’s Premier League fixtures against Leicester City on 12 November 2022. Aston Villa on 12 March 2023. Leeds United on 21 May 2023, and AFC Bournemouth on 12 August 2023.”

Well, considering how things went down for Sandro Tonali and Ivan Toney, Paqueta seems to be in a deep gravy. Do you think Manchester City should pursue Paqueta irrespective of the betting scandal? Let us know in the comments below.
