As per recent reports, the management of NYCFC and NYC officials have reached a deal on a soccer stadium for NYCFC in the city that is set to be ready by 2027. According to the source, they have reached an agreement, and it will be an entirely privately funded project. According to the source, the final announcement came at an event on Wednesday by New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

They have yet to provide the details of the deal, but we know that the stadium will be located across the street from the home NY Mets Baseball team, Citi Field. NYFC will reportedly pay around $750 million in this privately funded project, including housing and hotels.

Potential opportunities for employment

NYCFC won a long-lasting fight
NYCFC was founded in 2013 and played its first game during the 2015 MLS season. Currently, the team is playing its home games in Yankee Stadium, home to the New York Yankees baseball team. The management started looking to build a stadium in 2012 with plans for Flushing Meadows Corona Park, which eventually fell through.

They were close to closing a deal in 2020 in the Bronx, but that deal also didn’t come through. So finally, we have an official confirmation that after ten years of fight, NYCFC is getting its own home.

The stadium will reportedly be ready by 2027 and will have a 25,000 seating capacity in Queens. Meanwhile, soccer fans worldwide will enjoy the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which starts in just a few days.
