Manchester United has an enormous game on their hands this match week. The side will be up against the high-flying Aston Villa, who has taken the Premier League by storm this season. Unai Emery’s men are currently placed fourth in the league standings with forty-six points to their name. The last game between the two clubs saw the Red Devils pick up a 3-2 win. However, things are not the same. United will be missing some of their star players and have to perform at their highest level to stop Villa’s impressive winning streak.
Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag addressed the media during his press conference last night, providing updates on his squad. The Dutchman also gave an update on Lisandro Martinez‘s status after the defender was forced off the field following a rough injury against West Ham United last week. Erik ten Hag’s men will have to bring their best game forward to neutralize Villa’s threat in the midfield. While the Dutchman has a chunk of his squad fit for selection, five players are unavailable for the tightly contested affair. Here are the Manchester United injury updates!
Lisandro Martinez: Martinez made his triumphant return from an extended ankle injury this year. However, it didn’t take long for the return to develop into a nightmare. The Argentine suffered a rough knee injury during the team’s clash against West Ham last week. While the player did get up on his feet, he had to be taken off the field for further tests. Head coach Erik ten Hag provided an update on Martinez during his press conference, confirming the Argentine would be out for at least two months.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka: While the player returned to the team’s training last week, it seems Wan-Bissaka is yet to reach 100% fitness. Erik ten Hag commented on the player’s situation while addressing the media, stating, “Aaron Wan-Bissaka today was training, but then he dropped out. So I don’t know at this moment where he is and what is the diagnosis. Hopefully, he is not too bad.”

Mason Mount: The Englishman has missed a vast majority of the season following his move to Old Trafford. Mount is currently out with a calf injury and is undergoing the recovery process. Reports suggest the player is close to match fitness and will return to action in the coming weeks.
Tyrell Malacia: The Dutchman is currently out with a knee injury and will be unavailable for the foreseeable future. Malacia tore his ligament during the pre-season tour and has been out of action since then. There is no concrete return day in place for the player. However, the team management and the medical staff believe Malacia could get fit in the coming months.
