As the January transfer window approaches its closure, intriguing progress has surfaced from the quarters of Manchester City. Kalvin Phillips, whose journey with the Sky Blues has been deemed lackluster, has been confirmed to be loaned out in a final resolution concerning his tenure. Simultaneously, it appears that Manchester City is considering the future addition of a promising 19-year-old Brazilian, Savinho, who has already won silverware back home with Clube Atlético Mineiro and PSV Eindhoven. He is currently on a table-topping dream run with Girona!

Pep Guardiola had earlier made it clear that Phillips, who hasn’t started a single match this season, is free to leave the team. The club established an $8.9 million loan fee for the Englishman’s transition and is now seemingly accepted by West Ham United.

According to recent updates from journalist Alan Nixon, Kalvin Phillips will ‘shortly‘ finalize a loan transfer to the London Stadium. Initially, the midfielder had attracted the attention of several elite clubs, including Juventus, Newcastle United, and Barcelona. However, no final agreement was reached with them. Interestingly, The Hammers’ proposition reportedly includes not only agreeing to cover Philips’ salary but also offering bonuses.

Regardless, there exists no current arrangement to transform this temporary move into a permanent signing. Initially, reports emerged indicating a certain hesitance by West Ham regarding the acquisition of Phillips due to the City’s substantial loan fee pegged at $8.9 million.

They eagerly awaited a reduction in said fee before finding a common ground. Unfortunately, exact specifics around the current negotiations remain undisclosed. On the flip side, Guardiola and Co. are covertly advancing toward integrating Girona’s promising forward Savinho.

The Sky Blues are leading the race to acquire Savinho!

The promising Brazilian winger, Savinho is currently serving a loan tenure with La Liga’s Girona courtesy of Troyes in France. The 19-year-old so far this season has netted six goals whilst additionally assisting seven others. Consequently, his performance has caught the eyes of soccer giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.

However, Manchester City appears to be at the forefront of this pursuit. This is due to the inherent connection between the Premier League side and Savinho’s current club, as they both are owned by the City Football Group.

As per reports from The Daily Star, the Cityzens are close to securing his services in the summer for only $10 million. The addition of this young attacker to Manchester City’s already formidable lineup could prove to be an intriguing prospect.
