Is Joshua Kimmich the missing piece for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City dominance?

The summer transfer window has been somewhat quiet following Kylian Mbappe‘s move to Real Madrid. Top European clubs are still waiting on the major international tournaments before making any move. Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City is no different, with the club calculating all their options. Well, with top stars linked with a move away from the club, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Sky Blues go big in the coming months. From the looks of it, the club might have already started.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City has signed all the necessary documents to secure the services of Brazilian winger Savio from sister club Girona. The move has been in the pipeline for a while and it’s expected Manchester City will make things official as soon as this week. The Brazilian could be a big addition if Bernardo Silva leaves the club in the summer with his $55 million release clause still in effect.

In other news, Saudi side Al Nassr has made a massive $65 million offer to Manchester City’s Ederson. If the player agrees to terms with the Middle Eastern outfit, the Sky Blues might get somewhere close to $45 million as a transfer fee for the Brazilian goalkeeper.

Manchester City linked with multiple transfers for summer

Apart from Ederson, there has been interest in Sergio Gomez and Kalvin Phillips. Both players have failed to break into Pep Guardiola’s playing eleven and a move away would be good for their careers. Winger Jack Grealish has also been attracting interest from Bayern Munich and only time will tell if City’s decision to sign Savio is to facilitate a transfer for other less-used names.

With Vincent Kompany taking charge at Bayern Munich, top names at the club have been looking for a way out. Midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been linked with a move away, while the Bavarians are looking to sign Fulham’s Joao Palhinha with the negotiations being in advanced stages.

Kimmich is, reportedly, unhappy with his sinking role at Bayern Munich and has made his intentions clear to leave. If he moves to Manchester City, it will benefit the Sky Blues as the player may complement Rodri well. With Kevin De Bruyne’s future also uncertain, Pep Guardiola would love to bolster his midfield and a move for the German midfielder would be a step in the right direction.
