Defending Premier League champions Manchester City have decided a date with destiny with the League authorities over the trial. They have charged the club with 115 cases of breaching the Financial Fair Play rules. The repercussions could be massive for Pep Guardiola and his men as tension looms. Manchester City could face a substantial point deduction if they found the team guilty. Strikingly, if the authorities decide the club has done irreparable damage, the team could also face relegation.
To add more to the club’s worries, Pep Guardiola’s contract with the side expires next season. If the concerned authorities relegate the Citizens if found guilty, the side could potentially lose one of the best tacticians in the world.

According to a report from DailyMail, the club and Premier League authorities will hold the initial trial next year during Autumn. They brought the charges to light this February after opening an investigation against the club in 2018.
The report detailed, “Man City and the Premier League are finally set to face off in front of an independent panel amid 115 alleged breaches. The consequences could be devastating for Pep Guardiola’s side.”
It’s been reported that the trial will be a highly confidential process. The authorities have started taking statements from witnesses revolving around the case. Likewise, the FFP charges against Manchester City have dragged on for too long, and many expect the case to drag on to 2025.
