One of the most important clashes of this season awaits Manchester City. As the clock ticks for their game against Premier League toppers Arsenal, City will be anxious about a few injuries in their camp. Star players Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland were not in the best of shape physically during the season, suffering injuries to the hamstring and ankle, respectively. Even after they are back, the issue continues with a few other players struggling.
Manchester City, thanks to their bench strength, still managed to stay in contention for the title this year. With just 1 point and a goal difference of eleven separating them, a win is a must for the Sky Blues at the Etihad. But what are the updates about their injuries?

@cityreport_ crediting Martin Blackburn suggested that 3 key defenders, namely Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Manuel Akanji, are uncertain of featuring in Sunday’s Etihad fixture. This comes as a shock considering Manchester City, at this point in the current season, has conceded the most goals out of their last few seasons. Meanwhile, all three concerns are a result of the international break.

Kyle Walker was seen coming off the field in the 33rd minute against Brazil. Initially thought to be a hamstring niggle, now it looks a bit more frustrating for the Cityzens as the chances of him playing are 50-50. Subsequently, John Stones, who suffered hip and muscle injuries earlier this season, is now having an adductor issue and he could also miss out. In addition, Manuel Akanji stepped out of Switzerland’s game against Ireland, citing a knock. What about the mighty KDB?

After the judicious use of Kevin De Bruyne, the player holds chances of playing against the Gunners. According to Rob Thompson of ESPN, the Belgian took full part in CFA training sessions, including one with the under-23 team on Tuesday. But whether he would feature or not will depend on the next few days of observation. The club is also optimistic about seeing him in the main team session that will start today.
Meanwhile, KDB is being handled like gold by Pep Guardiola. Already City’s highest assist contributor, his hamstring injury and subsequent groin issues are keeping Pep from rushing him. Reports also suggested that Jack Grealish, who is having a muscle issue, is also training at CFA.

Additionally, Erling Haaland, who limped off training with Norway last week, seems to be okay currently and is expected to start on Sunday. While the defending EPL champions aim for a consecutive treble, it will once again need its deadly combination of De Bruyne-Haaland to be ready. Nevertheless, with the attack Arsenal have, scoring 70 goals this season, the European winners will also have a formidable backline.
