Manchester City has been thrown into a pan of fire after the international break. With the defending champions set to take on table-toppers Arsenal this Sunday, Pep Guardiola would have loved to have all hands on deck. However, it seems like the Spaniard’s wish won’t be granted anytime soon!

The Manchester City head coach had a one-on-one with the media earlier tonight.. The media scrum saw Guardiola confirm recent talks about Kyle Walker and John Stones. Both Walker and Stones picked up injuries during the international break. Reports suggest the two could miss the game against Arsenal. Pep Guardiola has now put his stamp on the rumors, claiming, “It is what it is.”

However, there has been a ray of sunshine amidst the doom and gloom. First-choice goalkeeper Ederson has recovered from his injury. The Brazilian has taken well to the training sessions and could be in for a comeback. Pep could start the player over Stefan Ortega this Sunday, considering the weight behind the game. Meanwhile, Manuel Akanji, Jack Grealish, and Kevin De Bruyne might also make a return to the team sheet. Kevin and Jack have been absent from the team for the past few weeks with their injuries.

Can an injury-ridden Manchester City get past Arsenal?
