The upcoming summer transfer window could be one for the ages. Big names such as Kylian Mbappe and Jamal Musiala could be in line for a change in scenario come summer. Another name that has been floating around the dirt sheets has been Manchester City‘s Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese is reportedly interested in a move away from the club with multiple clubs lining up for his signatures.

FC Barcelona were said to be the front runners for his services with the player keen to reunite with former City teammate Ilkay Gundogan. However, the latest reports claim Silva understands Barcelona could have a tough time paying his $55 million release clause considering their financial situation.

According to journalist Lu Martin, “Bernardo Silva believes he won’t be able to join Barça this summer and how it’s also unlikely he’ll live in the city [Barcelona] next year. Manchester City will not sell him for anywhere below the release clause.”

While a move to Barcelona seems tough to materialize, the Catalan side isn’t the only club interested in his services. French champions PSG and multiple Saudi Pro League outfits believe the summer of 2024 could be the best chance to lure Bernardo Silva away from Manchester City.

PSG faces competition from Middle Eastern clubs over Bernardo Silva

Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s side has been keen admirers of Bernardo Silva. The Parisians were interested in his services in 2017 when he played for AS Monaco. But, PSG prioritized a move for Kylian Mbappe over the Portuguese allowing Manchester City to swoop in for the midfielder. Yet, their interest in the player hasn’t waned with the club still interested in signing the midfielder, especially with Mbappe’s looming exit in the summer.

Well, the Ligue 1 champions aren’t the only club interested in the Portuguese. According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr also has Silva as a top transfer target. The Knights of Najd want to bolster their squad to compete with Al Hilal. Al Nassr’s management believes a move for the Manchester City midfielder could be a step in the right direction. Be that as it may, Pep Guardiola is keen on keeping hold of his star player and might not be reciprocal to a potential transfer.
