Swanson following her comeback took to her social media handle as she talked about her time away from injury. The Chicago Redstars superstar stated, “After 343 days, 3 surgeries, and an infection that changed my whole perspective on life I realized many things. Life is a beautiful blessing. Health is a blessing. This game that I love is a blessing. And at the end of it all, I am more thankful to be able to do what I love again.”
While her comeback for Chicago might have not gone as planned, the team will be eager to bounce back in their upcoming games. The Redstars suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bay FC despite Penelope Hocking finding a goal in the dying stages of the game. It will be interesting to see if Swanson can help rally the troops as Chicago look to strengthen their place in the standings before the Olympics break.
