Fans couldn’t believe it as Wrexham lost their first match in a long time yesterday. This was their 3rd defeat of the season, but it came at the worst possible time for the Welsh club. The team is eying automatic promotion this season, and this defeat has made a significant dent in the hopes.
Wrexham lost yesterday 3-1 against FC Halifax Town. Their next matchup is against the only team that is giving a tough challenge to them. On Monday Notts County will face Wrexham AFC on Racecourse Ground, and coach Phil Parkinson has made his approach clear after yesterday’s blunder.

Monday’s matchup can create a significant gap between Wrexham and Notts County. Although they lost their first place on the table, both teams have the same points. Wrexham has 5 games left meanwhile, Notts only have 4 regular season matches left.
Wrexham will respond
Although a crushing defeat, fans still have high hopes for the club. Yesterday’s defeat only marks as a slight hurdle and made things more achievable for Wrexham’s arch-rival this season Notts County. However, as fate would have it, Wrexham will face Notts County on its home ground. The recent defeat will help the club analyze its mistakes and work on them for what can be a title and Promotion defining moment.
🗣 “We didn’t respond like a Wrexham team normally does, and we have to look at that carefully and make sure we respond with a good performance across the 90 minutes on Monday.”

There is only one automatic promotion spot from tier 5 to tier 4 in the English soccer system. This fact has been criticized by fans as Both Wrexham and Notts County now have 100 points, which is a goliath of a stat. The flashbacks from last year!
