During her acceptance speech, she had a lot to say about her fans who have supported her through thick and thin.

She confessed that her fans inspired her to never give up. Shakira quoted, “When I had doubts about myself, you made me believe in myself again”. She thanked the fans for ‘accompanying’ and ‘protecting’ her. She continued, “You celebrate with me my joys and accompany me in all my struggles. Because of you I want to be a better musician, a better artist, and, if possible, a better person”.
