The Uruguayan had a stellar 2015–2016 season to with 40 goals, beating Cristiano Ronaldo to win the 2016 Golden Boot. Crediting Messi and Neymar for this, Luis Suarez said, “In the second year, the two of them (Neymar and Messi) helped me get the Golden Boot. I remember that Leo played for Ney, and Ney was in front of the goalkeeper looking to see if I arrived because I was fighting with Cristiano Ronaldo to be the top scorer. Then he was like, ‘Here, do it yourself’. I won thanks to them.
Ronaldo also had an incredible season scoring 35 goals and contributing 11 assists in La Liga. The Portuguese icon also won the UEFA Champions League and Euro in the same year.
