The USWNT fans have been waiting for this moment for quite some time. Fans felt a different joy after seeing Rapinoe’s name back on the team roster. The soccer veteran is three games away from making 200 appearances for the country. On the other hand, her dear teammate, Alex Morgan has just crossed the milestone too. Quite a few fans were upset after not seeing Sophia Smith’s name on the roster.
However, her exclusion from the roster was reportedly just a precautionary measure. The USWNT star has recently struggled with a minor foot injury. However, the USWNT staff wanted to make sure that the USWNT forward is fully rested and fit for the upcoming World Cup.
Andonovski is ready for the next three games!
The fans were essentially surprised after viewing the roster. Vlatko Andonovski seemingly did a good job of picking a decent roster for the cup competition. Andonovski expressed that he is definitely looking forward to the next three games. Andonovski told CBS Sports, “To get to play three top teams, all who are in the World Cup, over seven days, will test our team mentally and physically, and that’s exactly what we need at this point in our preparations”.

He continued, “We still have a few players in the pool recovering from injuries, but we are confident that they will be ready for selection for our April matches”. This final tournament before the World Cup will aid the USWNT head coach to find the best names for the final World Cup roster. Even if the SheBelieves cup doesn’t go as per plan, the USWNT will still head into the World Cup as favorites.
