Wrexham came into the game three points behind the leaders, Notts County. They kept the pressure on the leaders by winning the game in injury time. Luke Young’s screamer in the 29th minute and top-scorer Paul Mullin’s penalty in the 59th minute gave Wrexham a well-deserved comfortable lead.
However, a brace by Jack Barham (72nd and 79th minute) pegged back Wrexham, who had to rely on Aaron Hayden’s 91st-minute winner. The win took Wrexham level on points with Notts County with a game still in hand. It will be interesting to see which club grabs the automatic promotion spot from the league.
