From raucous celebrations to emotional addresses, Jurgen Klopp did it all during his time at Liverpool. The German manager leaves as a fan favorite after ending his nine-year-long partnership with the Reds. However, while Klopp had a phenomenal hand in helping Liverpool lift their first Premier League title in 30 years alongside a Champions League title, there isn’t much to unravel.

Jurgen Klopp sat down for a Q&A session hosted by the comedian John Bishop and the LFC TV presenter Peter McDowall. The German tactician, when asked about getting top signings, stated, “Can you imagine LFC as the club with unlimited money? Imagine Kylian Mbappe came here. Imagine Bellingham came here, Haaland. It is not us. It just does not fit. We won what we won, and we did it the Liverpool way. We had hard conversations and other clubs didn’t do that at the same time.”

Liverpool were said to be in pole position for Jude Bellingham’s signatures last summer. The Reds went out of their way to push a $100 million bid for the English star. However, Klopp’s former side was outbid by La Liga giant Real Madrid, who swooped and secured the transfer with a $106 million transfer bid. Bellingham has been in sublime form following his move to Santiago Bernabeu, and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine the impact the former Dortmund man would have on Liverpool if he had joined the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp aims a dig at Manchester United’s finances over Jadon Sancho situation

While the German spent most of his time working around a strict budget, most of his other rivals had somewhat of an unlimited purse. Jurgen Klopp pointed out the differences between Liverpool and other clubs using Manchester United as an example while taking a slight dig at manager Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils paid around $85 million for Jadon Sancho’s services. Yet, due to his unsatisfactory performances, he was shipped back to Borussia Dortmund on loan after the player’s public fallout with the Dutchman.

Klopp stated, “If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player. I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless’ like other clubs did by the way. Buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan!”

Sancho has been in great form following his move to Signal Iduna Park. The English star has impressed for the German side and could seal a permanent move to the team come summer. Manchester United is expected to receive somewhere between $50 to $55 million for his services. The team would suffer a significant setback, given the substantial transfer fee that was paid to bring the Englishman to Manchester United. Could Klopp have won more with unlimited money?
