Lionel Messi has been subject to transfer speculations with the summer transfer window approaching. He is in the last few months of his PSG contract, which ends in June this year. The Parisians have put forth an extension offer for the Argentine, who has yet to respond. 

Reportedly, there are several offers on the table for Messi. MLS club Inter Miami is also confident of landing Messi for free. MLS and the clubs are considering a unique proposal to land PSG forward in the league, irrespective of which club he plays for.

But recently, his former club Barcelona’s vice-president has raised eyebrows among the fans. His statements revealed the club is trying to get the World Cup winner back. Of course, the Barca fans would welcome him with open hands despite Messi leaving the team amid their financial struggles. However, the news hasn’t gone down well with many other fans who don’t want to see Messi return to Barcelona.

Fans react to report of Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona

Barcelona vise-president Rafa Yuste recently made a massive statement on Lionel Messi’s future. He said, “We’ve been in contact with Leo Messi’s camp. Leo knows how much we appreciate him, and I’d love for him to come back.” The news of the potential return of Messi to Barcelona drew reactions from the fans.

One fan wrote“This Barcelona obsession with Messi needs to end. All I see is locker room wars immediately if he returns to Camp Nou.” The report has drawn many negative reactions from the fans, while there are supporters of this idea. Many fans don’t want Messi to return to the club. Some also questioned the deal with Barcelona in financial trouble.

A few fans think the return will be no good for the team spirit, and also, the deal will put Barcelona in more financial woes. It will be interesting to see whether Messi really ends up at the Catalan club to have a last dance. Like another group of fans, Barcelona manager Xavi is also open to the return of the soccer talisman.

Messi is no less of an option for the summer transfer. He has a contract extension offer from PSG. MLS and Inter Miami are trying everything possible to land the Argentine. Saudi Arabian clubs are also preparing mouth-watering offers to reignite the Messi-Ronaldo rivalry in the Saudi Pro League.
