In the battle against cancer, a fan’s dream came true in a heartwarming gesture by USMNT legend Alex Morgan. The San Diego Wave FC superstar spotted a fan’s wish list as she made her way back into the tunnel. The gesture was not only to realize but to illuminate the moment. A moment that will reside in the heart of the fan forever. The fan posted a picture of her bucket list on her Instagram page.

In San Diego Wave’s last match against Houston Dash, Ashley Ahrens waited in the stands to get spotted by her favorite soccer player, Alex Morgan. As soon as the game ended, Morgan was quick to notice Ashley with a sign in her hands at the stands.

Ashley couldn’t believe her eyes and quickly went to shake hands with Alex Morgan. The sign had her bucket list written on it. The sign read, “Living with Stage IV Breast Cancer, Bucket list: Meet my favorite WNBA player (Kelsey Plum), Sit in amazing seats in a San Diego Wave game, Meet my favorite soccer player Alex Morgan.”

Ashley’s list was almost completed and only her remaining wish was fulfilled. Alex Morgan’s gesture not only made Ashley’s day but she also received much love from other supporters of the club.

Ashley had not just been lucky this time, she also fulfilled her wish of meeting basketball star Kelsey Plum. But there’s another story to that.

Ashley’s dream of meeting Las Vegas Aces player Kelsey Plum also came true. Upon a friend’s suggestion, Ashley attended a Las Vegas Aces game and held up a sign that read, “Meeting Kelsey Plum #10 on my list.” Although Plum didn’t notice the sign during her game, the story didn’t end there.

Another player from the Aces game spotted the sign and informed the team and Kelsey about it. After which Kelsey took to Twitter asking for help to find the fan who wished to meet her. In a fairytale event, Ashley was invited to Las Vegas Aces following the game, where she finally met her favorite WNBA player.
