It is very unlikely to see a club dominate Bayern Munich through an entire Bundesliga campaign. However, Bayer Leverkusen has done that this season. Xabi Alonso‘s men have taken the Bundesliga by storm, holding the competition by its horns. The side is currently on top of the league standings with 48 points from 18 games, four points ahead of second-placed Bayern. Notably, Xabi’s recent success has seen multiple European elites, such as Liverpool and Real Madrid, eying his signatures.

Alonso’s been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past few hours after current Reds’ head coach Jurgen Klopp announced his departure from the club come summer. Real Madrid is also interested in the Spaniard’s services. However, it would be interesting to see if they part ways with Carlo Ancelotti to make room for the current Leverkusen manager.

Multiple sources across England have linked the Leverkusen head coach as the front-runner to take over Jurgen Klopp’s role at Liverpool. The oddsmakers have also put Alonso as the favorite to succeed Klopp. Xabi Alonso has done an excellent job in charge of the German side in his 64 outings with the side. The Spaniard currently boasts a 63% win record, with his side bagging 41 wins from 64 games. A move to his former side seems like an ideal move for the Spaniard, who would love to prove his mettle in the Premier League.

Ancelotti renewed his contract with Real Madrid this season, which will see him remain in charge of the club until 2026. The club has done a great job with the manager at the helm and will be eyeing to get their hands on some continental silverware this season. While Ancelotti might be a constant at Santiago Bernabeu for the coming years, things could change if Los Blancos fail to get their hands on the Champions League title.

Jurgen Klopp announces his departure from Liverpool

The Liverpool head coach shared a heartbreaking message for the fans early today announcing his departure come summer. Klopp addressed the fans in an emotional message, stating, “I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take.”

He then continued, “It is that I am, how can I say it, running out of energy? I have no problem now, obviously, I knew it already for longer that I will have to announce it at one point, but I am absolutely fine now. I know that I cannot do the job again and again and again and again.”
