“Little Angel Who Left Far Too Soon” – After 17-Year-Old Was Shot & Killed by Police Sparking Riots, PSG’s Kylian Mbappe Pens an Emotional Message

An untoward incident in France involving the shooting of a 17-year-old has led to protests and confrontations with law enforcement on the streets of France. The incident happened in the Paris suburb of Nanterre after the student failed to comply with the police order. The boy involved in the incident has received support from many, including French soccer star Kylian Mbappe. 

The police stopped him for breaking several rules while the teenager drove a rental car. There are riots in the streets of France as people target the police following the shocking incident. In disappointment, Mbappe tweeted his thoughts and voiced his opinions on the sensitive matter.

In the tweet, he stated, “I feel bad for my France. An unacceptable situation. All my thoughts go out to Naël’s family and loved ones, this little angel who left far too soon.” The incident shocked the entire French community, and they demanded justice for the untoward incident. According to Al Jazeera, a video circulated on social media showing the startling incident. In the video, two police offers try to stop the teenager in the car after repeated offenses. 

One officer tried to get him out of the car while the other pointed the gun at him. After that, the youth fled from the scene when the officer shot him from close range. The teenager then drove forward and ultimately crashed his car after several meters. Although the paramedics appeared on the scene, they could not revive the young boy. It has sparked outrage and violence in the suburbs of Nanterre.

According to local videos, the protestors have taken the matter into their hands and held protests outside the police headquarters. They vandalized the entire city with firecrackers and targeted police cars, bus stops, and other amenities. The situation is becoming tense in the suburbs as the confrontations resulted in nine arrests so far.

The French authorities arrested the officer who fired shots and charged him with homicide. France’s Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin acknowledged the incident and dubbed the incident as ‘extremely shocking.’ There are various images circulated on social media concerning the shooting, and many people have voiced their grievances.
