Lionel Messi made jaws drop when he decided to join Inter Miami from PSG. Fresh off winning the World Cup, and Ligue 1, there was no doubt that Messi could’ve played in Europe for 2 more seasons. Yet he decided to join the MLS which is a huge deal because his quality will elevate the league both on and off the pitch.
It’s been just two matches and the rise in sporting quality and media coverage is already visible. But many of us still are in disbelief and shock at the move. Former MLS legend Taylor Twellman is also one among them.

MLS legend Taylor Twellman still in disbelief at the arrival of Lionel Messi
MLS commentator and former New England Revolution legend Taylor Twellman earlier today revealed that he is still in disbelief with Messi’s arrival. “Nobody ever thought it would be real,”. The media personality believes that the league has never peaked higher than this until now. “I think it is the pinnacle moment in this league’s history.”
He delved into it further by giving a metaphor of gas and fire. “It’s a rocket ship to the moon,” Twellman said. “Without Messi, everyone was going to be looking at the United States. Then you add the GOAT on top of that? You literally put gas on the fire,” explained Twellman.
