However, not everyone was pleased with the way that the Argentine players conducted themselves after the win. In particular, MLS legend and former Barcelona teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic took issue with the way that Messi and company celebrated, slamming them for their actions.

The Swedish striker didn’t hold back when asked about the actions of the Argentine players during the post-tournament celebrations. “I’m not worried about Messi. I am worried about the others in Argentina because they are not going to win anything else,” he said.

“Messi has won everything and he will be remembered, but the rest who behaved badly, we cannot respect that.” Ibrahimovic’s comments didn’t sit well with Argentina legend Sergio Aguero, who replied to the Swedish striker in a recent podcast.

Sergio Aguero, who played with Messi from 2010-21  had more to chime in on Ibrahimovic’s comments. “I remember that you fought with [Nicolas] Otamendi in a game between City and United. You argued with Pep Guardiola. I imagine that’s why he wanted to sell you from Barcelona. You disrespected my teammates.” He further added, “What’s more, maybe you’re also talking to me because I was there. I feel like you shot me and now I’m shooting you. We are world champions, Zlatan. Messi is the best in the world, I’m sorry.”
