But, a stormy period awaits David Beckham’s club which will miss captain Lionel Messi due to Copa America duties. The club’s dependence on Messi has been evident since his arrival with their poor results during his absence. However, despite some apprehension, yesterday night’s hero Jordi Alba confidently laid the roadmap on how the club aims to cope without the Argentine.

According to Deporte Total USA, the Spanish defender is sure that the team can keep their form without Messi. Reportedly he suggested that they need to “have a balance in life and in football” and felt that the club is doing well in general. Nevertheless, he acknowledged that it wasn’t going to be easy and said, “Knowing the player that he is for us, it’s hard, but the team will continue to compete as much as possible, and that will be noticed,” citing the determination of the club to prove their mettle.
