Neymar Jr. and Lionel Messi both have left PSG in this summer transfer window. The two seasons that they enjoyed playing alongside each other weren’t as magical as fans expected it would turn out to be. The situation from the get-go wasn’t in the favor of Lionel Messi. What happened to the soccer legend at the end of his career at PSG is something that hasn’t sat well with the global fans of the Argentinian. And his teammate and dear friend Neymar had a few important words to say about that.

In a recent interview, he spoke about their time in the French capital, and how the fans and club turned out to be hostile towards them. Neymar joined Al Hilal last month. But he is currently in Brazil with the national team for their World Cup qualifiers.

Neymar admits that Lionel Messi deserved better

Lionel Messi departed Parc des Princes without an official farewell, as PSG sought a swift exit. Despite potential reasons, the mistreatment of the World Cup winner remains unjust.

Neymar, in an Esporte Espetacular interview, expressed his sentiments about Messi’s treatment, “Messi left (PSG) in a way that, for football, he didn’t deserve it. For everything he is, everything he does, anyone who knows him knows, he is a guy who trains, who fights, if he loses he gets angry, and he was unfairly charged in my opinion.”

Neymar, however, was happy for his former teammate. He further added, “But at the same time, I was very happy that he won the World Cup. As you said, football was fair this time, since the Brazilian team left, Messi deserved to end his career like this.” Lionel Messi is now at Inter Miami and is having a wonderful time. The Argentinian has already won the Florida club their first silverware.

Lionel Messi never wanted to leave Barcelona, he has stated that now that his time with PSG has come to an end. Messi had to leave Barcelona because of the financial restrictions placed on the club. After winning the World Cup things got weirder as Argentina won the World Cup against France. But, it wasn’t then that the relationship broke between Messi and the fans and management of PSG.
