The much-anticipated weekend meant that fans would get to witness Lionel Messi in action with Inter Miami. However, the Herons flew to British Columbia to face Vancouver without the presence of the Argentinian superstar, Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets. While one might assume they would be resting back in Florida, Messi and Suarez have instead been spotted fulfilling their fatherly duties.
A video was shared by @M10GOAT on X showcasing the former Barcelona duo sitting on the sidelines to see their kids, Thiago Messi and Benjamin Suarez, in Inter Miami Academy’s training sessions. Wearing white-colored oversized T-shirts with shorts and goggles, the partner-in-crimes were closely watching their sons train with fellow teenage teammates. Sitting beside La Pulga and El Pistolero were their youngest sons Mateo and Ciro Messi and Lautaro Suarez.

Notably, this isn’t the first time both Messi and Suarez have paid visits to Miami Academy. They have often surprised the local crowd with their presence to see their kids play. Both Thiago and Benjamin are exceptional in their age. Just recently, Thiago netted a hattrick to help his team win 4-0, with his mother and Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, praising the youngster’s efforts.
Either way, the father-son day out must have turned out well for the attacking duo as they spent quality time with their children. However, it certainly came at a cost. Both Messi and Suarez were enjoying Miami’s heat while David Beckham‘s soccer club took a flight to Vancouver. Speaking of which, why did the two didn’t make it to Canada?
The reason why Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets missed Vancouver clash
Lionel Messi, along with Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets, was absent tonight not due to injury but because of a lengthy 2,800-mile journey to British Columbia on a 7-hour flight. Already, the trio were bound to play Atlanta United just three days after tonight’s game. Hence, Tata Martino played the safe card to have the best squad at his disposal with fatigue-free stars.

However, Miami will have to adjust to the absence of both Messi and Suarez during the upcoming Copa America break. They are expected to miss up to seven MLS games for the Florida side from June 20 to July 20, in addition to participating in international friendlies. Tata Martino will face the challenge of maintaining their performance in the absence of these star players.
Yet, whether Inter Miami can survive with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez is a question that will be answered by their result against Vancouver. Till then, we shall let them enjoy their fatherhood.
