Inter Miami put on quite a show against Nashville yesterday. The Herons kept their motor running by clinching a remarkable 3-1 victory, extending their lead at the top of the MLS table. While Lionel Messi left spectators spellbound with his exceptional display, the Miami captain guided his team to a new club record, just days after towering over Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham in the US.
Inter Miami welcomed a record crowd at Chase Stadium while hosting Nashville. With over 21,550 spectators, this attendance sets a new record in the club’s history, a milestone confirmed by the Florida-based team on their official website. Undoubtedly, Messi’s presence is one of the contributing factors to this achievement. However, compared to their rivals’ overall attendance at their respective home stadiums, they fall short.
According to a list shared by @mlsnetwork on X, Atlanta United leads the chart with over 42,600 spectators, followed by Seattle Sounders in second place with 30,550 fans. Notably, Inter Miami ranks fourth, trailing behind Toronto FC’s 24,108 attendance. The list continues with New York City (21,073), Columbus Crew (20,614), Houston Dynamo (20,115), Sporting KC (19,637), and CF Montreal (19,619). Similarly, the Chicago Fire (14,247) secured the 10th-place finish, with the Colorado Rapids (7,492) recording the lowest stadium attendance.

Interestingly, Miami’s previous fixture against Sporting KC saw the match break the MLS record attendance, with over 72,610 fans turning up to witness Messi in action and NFL star Patrick Mahomes in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium. However, since the venue was the home of the Kansas City Chiefs, this feat won’t be counted towards Sporting KC’s attendance. Either way, it’s quite a remarkable achievement in the history of Inter Miami, which comes hot on the heels of their recent dominance over Ryan Reynolds’ domestic side in the US.

Lionel Messi also helped Inter Miami get an edge over Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham
According to recent reports, Wrexham has surpassed most MLS clubs in Google search results, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami being the only exception, as they are more popular than the Welsh club. The comparison was conducted by analyzing the search results of each MLS club against those of Wrexham. The study focused exclusively on searches within the USA from January 1st, 2024, to April 14, 2024. David Beckham’s club emerged as more popular than Wrexham in 48 out of the 50 American states.

The remaining two states, Montana and Alaska, are fans of the League Two side, with Ryan Reynolds’ team being more popular compared to the MLS teams. Furthermore, the report revealed that Wrexham AFC generated more buzz in certain states than the MLS clubs not native to those states. This trend was observed with 5 MLS clubs—Charlotte FC, New England Revolution, FC Cincinnati, DC United, and Sporting KC—each having popularity in states beyond their own. Certainly, there is no stopping Miami, with Messi bringing his record-breaking aura to the Florida side’s ranks.
