On Monday night, fans got to witness Lionel Messi score yet another free-kick goal for Miami. Interestingly, moments before he took the free-kick, Messi’s major high-IQ move was caught on camera. Apparently, before taking the free kick, the 36-year-old crept the ball five times in order to get the best angle for his free kick.
Although the Miami skipper did it behind the back of the referee, he was able to achieve his motive for the high-IQ move. His big-brain move is garnering him a lot of praise on social media. Interestingly, it also caught the eye of former MLS star Taylor Twellman, who retweeted the clip and wrote, “#Messi”, with a goat emoji.

It seems Twellman is impressed with Messi’s genius antics that eventually gave Miami a lifeline. The match could have ended in favor of the hosts, but once again Messi came to save the day. The World Cup winner’s free kick in the 85th minute of the match tied the score at 4-4 and took the game to penalties.
In the end, it was Miami that clinched an inch-perfect win against FC Dallas in the round of 16 of the Leagues Cup. Indeed, both Miami and Messi are having a good time in each other’s company.

Glory days for Inter Miami
Before Messi, Inter Miami was struggling to win matches. The Herons faced constant disappointment on each matchday, which also brought them to the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference table. But since Messi’s arrival, things have started to improve. The skipper has gifted Miami four straight wins in the League Cup tournament.
