There are several successful prodigies in the Messi family. Lionel Messi, who started showing his alchemy very young, has passed on his traits to his children. Hence, due to the craze of fans, the Argentine’s sons have been receiving more attention than their father got as a kid. However, it seems to be leading to unwanted rumors.

This time, Leo took the time to dismiss one such claim, which reported his interest in joining his son at ‘La Masia.’ Messi’s sons are more fortunate than their father, it seems. Unlike their seniors, they need not have to go far away for grooming as Lionel Messi already has access to world-class facilities. However, the player never revealed his plans, which one social media post claimed he did.

An Instagram post claimed “There are several academies in America that wanted to sign my son Mateo, but I registered him in Miami. He has talent and I think he resembles my style when he was young. When I go back to Spain, I’m going to register him at Masia where I started.” However, La Pulga replied, “This is false, I never said that,” shattering the claim.

Messi’s love for Barcelona is undeniable. The player also wants to give his 8th Ballon d’Or to his first senior club. However, the claim of the post fell well behind the truth. Two of Lionel Messi’s three sons have started playing at their academies. Thiago, the eldest, had already joined La Masia but moved with the maestro to PSG’s academy before joining Inter Miami under 12.

Meanwhile, Mateo has started playing since Leo moved to PSG. The 8-year-old then joined Inter Miami Academy and has been making waves. Mateo seemed to inherit Leo’s blessed dribbling genes and has been in scintillating form for Inter Miami’s academy. And looks like it’s only Inter Miami that is on Lionel Messi’s mind at the moment.
