Lionel Messi recently sat down in an interview to talk about what’s next for the 8x Ballon d’Or winner. He highlighted his unwavering commitment to compete at the highest level. He told ESPN, “I will always try to compete to the maximum and I am the first to know when I can be there and when not”.

In a surprising revelation, he also admitted, “I am also aware that I went to a minor league, but a lot depends on the personal aspect and the way one faces it and competes.” Next, he discussed his current focus, which is on next year’s Copa America tournament, taking place in the United States.

“As long as I feel that I am well and I can continue to contribute, I will do it,” stated La Pulga. “Today, all I’m thinking about is getting to the Copa América and being able to play in it. To fight for it again as we have always done, to try to be champions.”
