Inter Miami took center stage out of nowhere. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner chose the Miami-based club as his next decision after his PSG contract ended. The MLS club is now the fifth most followed American team on Instagram, with over 8.5 million followers. Messi’s announcement made an incredible impact.

However, a man crucial behind the signing went public for the first time after the announcement. Beckham participated in a 90-minute question-and-answer round with fans recently. Meanwhile, one fan stunned him with a surprising question. The fan wanted to know why Beckham didn’t sign Messi for his other club. Apart from Inter Miami, Beckham also co-owns EFL League Two club Salford City with his former United teammates.

I think that was quite a pull for Leo…” Obviously, Lionel Messi opting for Salford over all the massive offers he had, seems unlikely. And Beckham handled it with a light-hearted sarcastic answer.
