Lionel Messi and Inter Miami’s love affair is blooming.  David Beckham‘s team managed to bring the dream Barcelona trio of Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets to the MLS. In an attempt to further solidify their defence, there were tons of reports suggesting Messi’s former PSG teammate, Sergio Ramos, will join the Argentine in his exploits at Miami.

Similar to Messi, Ramos left PSG in the summer after a non-renewal of his contract. The $80 million worth Spanish defender has been considering his choices since leaving Paris. Interestingly, the former Real Madrid captain was offered a significant deal to reunite with Messi at Inter Miami. However, the 37-year-old veteran recently broke his silence and is set to move to Saudi Arabia to begin a fresh chapter.

Interestingly, David Beckham’s team offered around an eight-figure salary to the Spanish defender. According to reliable sources, Ramos could have become the second-highest-earning athlete in MLS after Messi. Despite the $44 million per season offer with Miami, the Real Madrid icon refused to join Major League Soccer.

Ramos turned down the Herons’ offer to join Saudi Arabian club, Al-Ittihad. After being a free agent for over 35 days, he has given the green light to the club from the gulf and will follow in Ronaldo’s footsteps. Ramos declined Inter Miami’s intriguing offer to join his former teammate and Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema, at Al-Ittihad.

Saudi Arabia League has become the center of attention in less than a year, thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo’s move. Owing to the Saudi club’s recent international players signings, many believe the SPL has become a threat to top soccer leagues. Interestingly, Man City boss, Pep Guardiola, also showed concern over the Saudi club’s growing influence among players.
