However, a young pitch invader’s entry marred the game. He went into the celebrating players with Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson holding his ankle after the invader crashed into him. It enraged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as it would have caused a severe injury to the player.
The incident happened after the Liverpool players were celebrating the seventh goal. The stewards escorted the pitch invader out of the ground. A potential lifetime ban for the pitch invader is harsh, as per a few fans
Police have arrested the 16-year-old fan who invaded the pitch during the Liverpool and Manchester United game. Later, Liverpool also released an official statement over the incident. ”If found guilty of the offense of entering the pitch without permission, the offender could face a criminal record and a lifetime ban from Anfield and all Premier League stadiums,” the statement read.

However, the potential ban on the fan has made some fans show sympathy for the invader. One of the Reddit users wrote, “Calling for a lifetime ban is ridiculous. Some community service and a few years are more than enough. We want people to learn from their mistakes and improve. A lifetime ban for a 16-year-old kid is far too harsh. Never mind being arrested.”
A few other users also were in sync. One of them said, “16 years old lifetime ban is very harsh,” while another added, “The 35 yr old that kicked Ramsdale only got a 4 yr ban so I feel like a 16 yr old idiot shouldn’t get a lifetime but some community service and a lengthy ban.” “Not even sure if a lifetime ban is right,” added another fan.

There were Reddit users who thought the invader deserved a lifetime ban. One of the users wrote, “A lifetime ban is deserved with some community service. If potential pitch invaders aren’t afraid of the consequences, then they’re never gonna stop.” “16 is old enough to know common sense,” added another user.
One user was unhappy with the arrest but thinks the lifetime ban is necessary. He wrote, “Arrested is harsh but should receive the lifetime ban imo, sure he’s only 16, but the behavior needs to be deterred.” “Absolutely fine with a zero-tolerance policy for pitch invaders of all ages, it’s dangerous, we’ve seen in the past how violent scumbags will use it to hurt players,” wrote another user in favor of the ban.
