Lionel Messi has fired Inter Miami to its first-ever final. Since the move, the Argentine maestro has taken over US soccer. The Herons struggling badly in MLS, are set to win their first trophy as they will face Nashville in the League Cup final. However, amid the Messi wave, a Mexican journalist stirred controversy by asking organizers to hand over the trophy to Messi without playing.
The talisman has been targeted by a journalist for receiving favoritism since arriving in the US. Meanwhile, the Mexican journalist has taken it to another level by calling the Leagues Cup ‘hypocrisy’, moments after a 31.8-yard freekick sent Inter Miami to the finals.

Renowned Mexican journo Alvaro Morales took to X to let everyone know his thoughts after Messi fired the Herons to its first-ever final. He posted, “Give him the Leagues Cup. Let’s stop hypocrisy and waste time.” Morales seemingly thought that everything was in favor of Messi after some contentious decisions by the referees made in the previous games.
Ya denle la Leagues Cup.
Dejémonos de hipocresías y de perder el tiempo.

Meanwhile, it is not the first time he slammed the Leagues Cup. He isn’t happy with what’s happening in the ongoing Leagues Cup. Liga MX clubs always dominated the soccer club competitions in North America. The last two editions saw Mexican clubs clinching the titles. But this season, there won’t be any club from Mexico in the final as MLS clubs Inter Miami and Nashville made it to the finals.

After Columbus Crew ousted Club America 4-1, he took to social media and said to give the title to MLS and Lionel Messi. It came in the wake of a few refereeing decisions that saw Club America’s two goals disallowed. He felt referees favored the MLS club, as the two goals were valid and could have changed the dynamics of the game. Despite all the stir, Messi is ready to propel Inter Miami to its first-ever trophy.

Based in Florida, David Beckham established the club in 2018 with his partners. He took the opportunity provided by MLS to buy the expansion club in Miami for a mere $25 million. The Herons started to play in the East Conference of the MLS in 2020. Meanwhile, the club gained international attention when Beckham succeeded in landing the former Barcelona superstar Messi.
And the Argentine is proving the decision right. Despite the dismal run in the MLS, Inter Miami are yet to lose a game after Messi’s arrival. With nine goals to his name, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner propelled the club to its first-ever shot at a trophy. Inter Miami are favorites to win the Leagues Cup thanks to the scintillating form of Lionel Messi.
