After Ryan Reynolds’ cryptic tweet bemusing fans on Thursday, Wrexham AFC has come up with yet another big news. It has excited the fans who are linking it to a one-year extension of Ben Foster with the club. And minutes after that, the club announced the contract extension.   

Wrexham brought back Foster from retirement in March. The club presented him with a short-term deal until the end of the season. It was a resolution to the club’s first-choice goalkeeper Rob Laiton’s injury. And now he will stay at the club for another year, sending fans into the peak of excitement.

Recently, the Red Dragons published the squad update. Around 11 players left the club, with a few players offered new deals. Ben Foster was one of those players. The club wanted the Notts County hero to stay and use his experience in the top division next season. The former Manchester United goalkeeper responded by accepting the deal, sending fans into hysterics.

Wrexham AFC tweeted Ben Foster’s contract news, which soon garnered the attention of the clubs’ fans. Everyone is super-excited with Ben Foster signing a new deal. One fan wrote, “Ben Foster!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s f**king go!!”  It is almost an identical reaction to many fans who are super-excited to see Foster in the goal for one more year. 

Foster’s penalty save against Notts County made him a hero for the Red Dragons fandom. The save proved to be crucial, as it gave an advantage to the third-oldest soccer club in the Vanarama National League title race. Ultimately, they won the league and got promoted to EFL League Two after 15 years. 

Now the eyes of the fans will be on the next signings, especially after the massive sponsorship announcement.

On Thursday, Reynolds bemused the fans with a cryptic ‘Wrexham United’ tweet. With fans making several speculations, the duo came out with a video to clarify the tweet and make a massive announcement. They announced new shirt sponsors for the next season. United Airlines will replace TikTok as the main sponsor.

It comes after a two-year deal with the social media giants ended. It is the third-important deal for the Red Dragons. They previously landed Betty Buzz as the training kit sponsor, who will also have a place on the sleeves of the women’s team jersey. SToK brought the naming rights for the Racecourse Ground. Overall, it has been significant few days for the club. Foster’s contract extension followed Betty Buzz, StoK, and United Airlines news.
