Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney share a great friendship. The duo, following their joint takeover, have taken the club to the next level. Despite this, they rarely miss out on any chances to mock each other. In the latest episode of their docuseries, the Deadpool star was seen indulging in some light-hearted banter at the expense of McElhenney’s outfit.
The Red Dragons have done a commendable job following the takeover in 2020. The Hollywood duo have managed to take the Welsh club out of the National League, helping them move to League Two, after an exile of over a decade. Wrexham is now hoping to secure consecutive promotion and make their way to the Championship.

The latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 presented a moment of healthy banter between co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. While talking to ESPN in a joint interview, Reynolds, who was in Wrexham, questioned Rob’s choice of clothing, considering he was sporting merchandise of all the teams he supported beyond soccer.
Poking some fun at his co-owner, Reynolds said, “What do the fans in Philadelphia make of your outfit right now? I wanna know. You have Wrexham, you have the scarf, you got the Philadelphia Eagles jersey. You actually have an ESPN microphone. You’re one brand away from legally being classified as a NASCAR.”
During the same interview, Ryan asked Rob about his expectations for the day. The interview was held on Sunday, the night Wrexham took on Sheffield United in the 4th Round of the FA Cup. While the Deadpool star was present at the Racecourse Ground for the game, McElhenney was present in Philadelphia to support the Eagles for their championship game.

Earlier in the episode, Ryan Reynolds was present at Racecourse Ground for Wrexham’s key game against Sheffield United. The Hollywood star was in awe of the atmosphere in the area as he touched down on the day. He then asked Rob about the importance of the day, considering all of his favorites had important fixtures in the night.
“Uh, the atmosphere here is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I gotta say, I feel for Rob today because you’ve put all your eggs in one basket this fine Sunday, haven’t you, Rob? You have your beloved Eagles playing in the Championship. You have your beloved football club.”

The Wrexham co-owner also poked fun at the American audience, as he called Wrexham’s game football, rather than refer to it as soccer.
“We call it football over here, by the way, not soccer, playing in the fourth round of the FA Cup. I mean, either this is gonna be the best day of your life. Or you will release your hammerlock death grip on reality and happiness as we know it, by the end of the evening.”
McElhenney replied, “Yes, this could truly be one of the best days of my life, or one of the worst.”
