Al Hilal battered Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League last night. The club’s newly acquired Brazilian, Neymar, however, did not play the full 90, and only made a substitute appearance. Neymar started for Al Hilal in the 64 minute in front of the home crowd. Jorge Jesus, the Blue Waves coach, made a significant statement with his decision by choosing not to field the Brazilian talisman in the first half of the match.

Juca Kfouri, the well-known reporter, highlighted the manager’s influence on the squad even in light of Neymar’s world-class reputation.

Kfouri remarked, “Everyone’s expectation was that Neymar would debut today at Al-Hilal. What no one knew was that Jorge Jesus was willing to show who was in charge of the team. And he left Neymar on the bench.”

The newly signed European talents like Aleksandar Mitrovic and Malcom both were on the scoresheet while the home-grown talent Salem Aldawsari shone with a brilliant brace in the game.

Al Hilal capitalized on the weak back-line of the newly promoted Al Riyadh and slammed the club even without the Brazilian. Neymar’s inclusion in the forward line is expected to change the club’s attacking face, as Al Hilal looks to lift the SPL title.
