Al Hilal battered Al Riyadh in the Saudi Pro League last night. The club’s newly acquired Brazilian, Neymar, however, did not play the full 90, and only made a substitute appearance. In this instance, a renowned journalist remarked how Al Hilal’s gaffer is the undisputed voice in the dressing room.
The former PSG winger joined Al Hilal for a $400 million deal this season. However, he was not entirely fit to play on Arabian soil until the international break. Meanwhile, soccer fans were astonished to see him on the bench against Al Riyadh, leading to widespread questioning of the manager’s decision.

Neymar started for Al Hilal in the 64 minute in front of the home crowd. Jorge Jesus, the Blue Waves coach, made a significant statement with his decision by choosing not to field the Brazilian talisman in the first half of the match.
Juca Kfouri, the well-known reporter, highlighted the manager’s influence on the squad even in light of Neymar’s world-class reputation.
Kfouri remarked, “Everyone’s expectation was that Neymar would debut today at Al-Hilal. What no one knew was that Jorge Jesus was willing to show who was in charge of the team. And he left Neymar on the bench.”
Neymar, even in his short time on the pitch, asserted his presence by creating opportunities for his teammates. The former Barcelona star assisted his compatriot, Malcom, to extend the scoreline to 3-0 within seven minutes remaining in the game. The Brazilian also had numerous shots on target, which were expertly saved by the rival goalkeeper, Martin Campana.
