England fans: Passionate supporters or just hooligans? What do you think about the recent brawl?

English fans finally have a wide smile on their faces thanks to Gareth Southgate’s tactical decision to replace Harry Kane with Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa striker showed up big for England with a clutch strike at death that sent them to the UEFA Euro final against Spain. While the majority of Three Lions’ supporters are celebrating, a few endured great suffering before the exhilarating moment finally arrived. A leaked clip doing rounds on the web shows, English fans taking a beating from a violent mob of Dutch fans before the England-Netherlands kickoff.

Per a clip posted by TyC Sports on X, a group of Netherlands fans attacked English fans in a bar shortly before the two teams battled it out in Dortmund. As seen in the video, fans dressed in orange threw beer bottles, chairs, and tables at a bunch of English fans. Besides, there was heavy pushing and shoving between the two fans.

A man dressed in black, perhaps a security staff at the bar, was also seen intervening to prevent the action from escalating any further. Meanwhile, some English fans ran inside a bar to avoid injuries, while the Dutchmen continued vandalizing the building.

Incidentally, the fan brawl incident might give some England supporters a déjà vu from the last UEFA Euro tournament. During the 2020 Euro final, England lost the European silverware to Italy in penalties, that too in Wembley Stadium. Thereafter, a mob of enraged English fans violently attacked Italian fans, scaring the guests out of London.

Anyhow, England later redeemed their battered and bruised fans on the field, as the Dutchmen ended on the wrong side of history.

England finally gives an entertaining display and settles the game in 90 minutes

Gareth Southgate’s England has been facing flak for lackluster displays at UEFA Euros. In two of their previous knockout games, England had to stretch the game until extra time and one game even to penalties to find a win. However, the Netherlands tie saw a different version of the Three Lions. Firstly, they took less than 10 minutes to equalize against the Dutch after Xavi Simmons netted an early screamer.

Thereafter, they consistently fought against the Oranje Army, registering five attempts to the latter’s 2 attempts on goal. The game came full circle for Southgate’s men after Ollie Watkins shot himself to the galaxy of greats with a 90th-minute strike that earned England a ticket to the finale on July 14th. If the English fans took a beating on the pub, their players gave them retribution on the field with an ace game.
