Kylian Mbappe finished 3rd in the Ballon d’Or race. A few days later, the results of the Ballon d’Or voting were made available on social media.  And it looks like the Frenchman has taken it not too well. He has expressed his displeasure on the voting of the French journalist. This is as Norway and Argentina voted Haaland and Messi.

The PSG star hopes to win the Golden Ball in the coming years in his home country. French soccer fans also would like their local boy to win the prestigious trophy as they see him as their star for the next decade.

Kylian Mbappe expresses displeasure on social media over Ballon d’Or voting from the France journalist

The organizers of the Ballon d’Or Award, France Football, select the journalists who can vote for their top 5 players. The player that is No. 1 on their list gets the most points. Likewise, French journalist Vincent Garcia got the chance to vote for the Ballon d’Or this year from France. But he decided to take a surprising decision. His choice of vote has not gone too well with Kylian Mbappe.

According to the voting results journalists released, French journalist Vincent Garcia decided to vote for Lionel Messi as No.1 and Kylian Mbappe as No.2. The post on Instagram also said, “The French Football reporter, representing France, did not vote for @k.mbappe number 1! Norway voted for Haaland, and Argentina voted for Messi…The countries that put Kylian Mbappé number 1: Bulgaria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Ecuador, and Czech Republic.”. The Frenchman has liked the post that clearly expresses the displeasure of the PSG star.

Kylian Mbappe did everything he could do for the club and country last season. However, there is one big issue that exists with him at PSG. The issue is the lack of trophies, unlike Haaland and Messi.

The PSG star failed to convert his goals into trophies last season

Kylian Mbappe scored a lot of goals last season. He also helped the France national team to reach the FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar. The Frenchman also ended as the highest scorer in the tournament with 8 goals. Despite, his goals he failed to win the final against Argentina. He also scored a hat trick in the final.  The young star forward also did well for PSG last season. However, in terms of trophies, PSG as a team only managed to win Ligue 1 last season.

Erling Haaland and Lionel Messi on the other hand also won big trophies to go with their goals. Manchester City star striker Haaland managed to win the treble with the club including the Champions League. Lionel Messi also won the Ligue 1. However, the big difference is he helped Argentina beat France in the World Cup final in Qatar. Hence, it is clear that the reason Messi and Haaland finished above him was the trophies they won last season.
