French superstar Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga might finally conclude in July. The PSG superstar’s contract with the club expires in June, with the player confirming his exit earlier this month. Reports suggest the player has already agreed to a deal in principle with Real Madrid over a move come summer. Despite that, nothing is official yet, and things can always change. After all, the same stuff happened in 2022, which ended with, well, Mbappe penning a contract extension! Hopefully, we can get a definitive narrative in the coming weeks, with fans growing frustrated at the drawn-out transfer drama!

The player was seen attending a high-profile meeting in Paris earlier this week alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the president’s residence. His visit gave rise to multiple rumors. Multiple outlets suggested Macron and Al Thani invited Mbappe to convince him to stay with the Parisians. However, it seems like the real reason behind his visit was completely different. And for once, it has nothing to do with either PSG or Real Madrid!

According to media outlet AS Kylian Mbappe was present at the high-profile meeting to promote the upcoming Paris Olympics. The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, was also present at the meeting with all the dignitaries discussing their plans to promote the global event. The PSG star is amongst the most popular athletes in France, with Mbappe’s Les Bleus amongst the favorites to win the Gold Medal in Soccer at the Paris Olympics.

However, despite the reason behind his official visit, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Al Thani and Macron make a last-ditch attempt to convince Kylian Mbappe to remain with PSG. After all, this isn’t the first time the French President has helped turn Mbappe’s head.

The French president is an ardent soccer supporter, with Macron helping PSG hold on to Kylian Mbappe in 2022. Macron, in 2022, stated he wants the World Cup winner to stay with PSG and help boost soccer in France. It seems like his words affected the player as Kylian snubbed Madrid’s offer, penning a contract extension with the Parisians.

With Mbappe likely to jump ship to Madrid come summer, Macron could give one last attempt to convince the player. Al Thani’s role could also be a crucial factor in the conversation. The Parisian club is backed by Qatari owners and, as such, Al Thani wouldn’t want to lose one of the biggest stars in modern-day soccer.
