PSG is going through a dark phase. The last-minute stunner from Lionel Messi might have put out the fire but, it seems inevitable. All three of the PSG trio were on a roll last night against LOSC. Despite all three stars scoring, PSG barely squeezed out a win in the face of a draw. The last two defeats took a big toll on the players.

The French club won the Ligue 1 match against LOSC 4-3 because of a last-minute magic trick of a free kick by Lionel Messi. Before that kick made everyone happy and forget the last 90 minutes, PSG has almost torn apart on the field during the match itself.

There is a big difference between a super team and a well-balanced team. PSG has arguably the best offense in entire European soccer, however, their defense renders them far from any balanced team conversations. They lost their round of 16 matches against Munich and suffered a significant blow which might render PSG missing one star when they face Munich in leg 2.

Chaotic scenes in Parc des Prince

The match started like a fairy tale for the French giants. Kylian Mbappe scored in the 11th minute and was quickly followed by Neymar in the 17th minute. With a 2-0 lead, all PSG had to do was play solid defense. However, in the 24th minute, Diakite scored for LOSC and the half ended at 2-1 for PSG. This is where everything goes downhill.

In the second half PSG mess up and give a penalty to LOSC which was converted easily by Jonathan David. In the 69th minute, Bamba found glaring space in PSG’s defense and scored 3rd sensational goal for the team. From leading 2-0 to trailing 3-2, enough was enough and everything exploded.

The score came to 3-2, and it was clear to everyone that PSG’s defense is very weak. At let the pitch to fire, on stand Luis Campos, the technical director of the club, came to side like and started shouting at the players. It was brutal, and he was not alone to shout and scold.

Lionel Messi stopped the shouting and scolding

Kylian Mbappe joined Campos from inside the pitch and scolds the players as they were on the brink of losing the game. Mbappe would eventually go on to score the equalizer, very reminiscent of the FIFA final against Argentina. Although the man who defeated him in Qatar, a couple of months ago would help him win.

Messi had a slow game but, when all the chips were on the line, even fans would have wanted Messi where he was. In the last minute of the added time, Messi would prove why he is called the Argentinian magician.

From way outside the box, he got a free kick. Lionel Messi showed the world that he still has the same fire he had in the prime of his career.

He rocketed the kick toward the left of the goalkeeper. He came short and PSG fans took a sigh of relief as they won 4-3. Although in hindsight, this match will still haunt PSG for a forcible future because Neymar is injured. Will he be able to join before they face Munich in leg 2 of UCL? Only time will tell.
